Nasomatto Pardon

There are brands like Nasomatto, which exceed expectations you didn’t even know you have. Though it was a relatively short-lived experiment, Nasomatto left a mark on the fragrance world that can’t be ignored.

On a short and unexpected twist of fate, I had a chance to experience Pardon – that’s stand for “Salvation” or “Save”, from the brand “Nasomatto”.

With Pardon, a humble devotee like me can go back time, travel thousand and thousand miles to Golgotha, nearby Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus’s Crucifixion on the cross. I can hear the Jerusalem bells are ringing sadly. And the image of Joseph bring Jesus down so sorrowful.

At first, Pardon explosion on my skin, overwhelming all other things. Oud appears, thick and dry. Oh those heavenly wood! Oud wanders, a little bit spleenful. But at the same time, Oud by Nasomatto is really clean and it goes well with the Oriental spices.

When the diversity and complexity of the fragrance reaching a climax, Gourmand note become clear. The bitterness of Original unsweetened Chocolate turn Oud into a mysterious and religious smoke. Incense catch the momentum, then powerfully spread into space.

The outstanding note of Pardon is Incense, cause clearly in the Perfume Pyramid, we can’t find Incense. It’s smouldering, slowly softer with Sandalwood’s lighter aroma. What a masterpiece!

Don’t you worry if what i wrote didn’t satisfy you to image and embrace how wonderful this scent is, when the depth and transform into one and another on different skin.

AUTHOR – ALESSANDRO GUALTIERI

Alessandro Gualtieri is an Italian perfumer who is known for his avant-garde approach to creating fragrances. He learned perfumery through a combination of formal studies in Germany and outside lessons from an Italian ex-pat he met at a bar. He built his reputation by working with major fashion brands such as Fendi, Versace, Helmut Lang, and Diesel before founding his own perfume line, Nasomatto, in Amsterdam.

What sets Gualtieri apart from other perfumers is his refusal to publish ingredient lists for his fragrances. Instead, he chooses to describe the inspiration behind each scent, allowing the line to first communicate each scent’s creative essence and leaving the actual notes for the wearer to contemplate over time.

Some of Gualtieri’s notable fragrances include Duro, which is his interpretation of masculinity and aims to enhance all the manifestations of strength. Another popular fragrance is Black Afgano, which is inspired by the scent of hashish and is known for its smoky, earthy aroma.

Overall, Gualtieri’s unique approach to perfumery has earned him a loyal following and established him as one of the most creative and daring noses in the industry.
