Description

Nasomatto Absinth

Known with fondness and dread as the green fairy, absinthe has always suggested a link to insanity. In the past, countless artists and writers have come and signed a covenant with this bottle-green spirit for decades, in exchange for creative ideas – which often leads to success and endless glory.

I can list out many of famous names addicted to Absinthe, such as: Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, … All of that has inspired Nasomatto to create an unique and unusual scent.

But before we go any further on the experience, the Wormwood note in Absinth is brilliant! How skillfully Alessandro Gualtieri – the genius nose behind Nasomatto turn Wormwood into a main note of Absinth. Do you know Wormwood is also the heart ingredient of the mysterious green liquor which i mentioned earlier?

On skin, Absinth is very green. It makes my heart skip a beat from the very beginning. I felt like an enthusiastic artist, always try to do the best for what i love. That’s why the greenness in Absinth made me to think a lot before i write. The deepness of Vetiver is collapsed with the biter of Pine, to form a mix of seductive perfection. Just like the spicy white haze that bind the hill in half, dull and lasting.

I’m neither a fan of alcoholic drinks nor tried the seductive green fairy spirit. But frankly, I have addicted to this scent now and then. Similaring to how I can’t get enough of those art masterpieces.

AUTHOR – ALESSANDRO GUALTIERI

Alessandro Gualtieri is an Italian perfumer who is known for his avant-garde approach to creating fragrances. He learned perfumery through a combination of formal studies in Germany and outside lessons from an Italian ex-pat he met at a bar. He built his reputation by working with major fashion brands such as Fendi, Versace, Helmut Lang, and Diesel before founding his own perfume line, Nasomatto, in Amsterdam.

What sets Gualtieri apart from other perfumers is his refusal to publish ingredient lists for his fragrances. Instead, he chooses to describe the inspiration behind each scent, allowing the line to first communicate each scent’s creative essence and leaving the actual notes for the wearer to contemplate over time.

Some of Gualtieri’s notable fragrances include Duro, which is his interpretation of masculinity and aims to enhance all the manifestations of strength. Another popular fragrance is Black Afgano, which is inspired by the scent of hashish and is known for its smoky, earthy aroma.

Overall, Gualtieri’s unique approach to perfumery has earned him a loyal following and established him as one of the most creative and daring noses in the industry.
